Welcome
The Riad
A haven of peace in the heart of Rabat's ancient medina

Our Story
The Renaissance of a Traditional Rbati Residence
Once upon a time, a forgotten residence lay tucked away in the lanes of Rabat's medina, in the shadow of the Kasbah of the Oudayas. Once the property of a merchant family, it had weathered centuries before falling into slumber.
It was here that Youssef, a man passionate about heritage, fell in love with its history-laden walls. Over five years, with a team of master artisans from Fez and Rabat, he breathed life back into every detail: zellige tiles were remade by hand, plasterwork sculpted to original patterns, cedarwood painstakingly stripped and repainted.
Today, Dar Al Miraaj is an open book on the Moroccan art of living. Its walls whisper the secrets of the past, and its patio welcomes travellers from around the world, steps from the ocean.
The Art of Hospitality
What Sets Us Apart
Heritage & Craftsmanship
Authentic zellige, carved plaster, cedarwood — every surface tells a story of centuries-old Moroccan savoir-faire, meticulously restored by master artisans from Fez.
Intimate & Exclusive
With only eleven rooms, Dar Al Miraaj offers a truly private experience. Our guests describe the atmosphere as "feeling part of a family" — not merely staying at a hotel.
UNESCO Medina
Located in the historic heart of Rabat, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where culture, history and the Atlantic breeze converge — five minutes from the Kasbah of the Oudayas.

Tribute
Mâalem & Artisans
We pay tribute to the artisans and Mâalem who brought Dar Al Miraaj back to life: master carpenter Mâalem Ahmed Mraoui for the cedarwood work, master zellige craftsman Mâalem Darif El Hussaine, plaster sculptor Mohammed, and wood painter Moussa. Their expertise is the soul of this residence.
"The attention to every single detail is meticulous."
